On Nov. 13th Bat Makumba is throwing a party at the Great American Music Hall to celebrate a great new CD release, "Boteco". We'll be touring the west coast in oct./nov, including a big Halloween bash in Portland. More details here.

Good News! Aram Danesh and the Super Human Crew's CD "The Grind" hits #16 on the CMJ (College Music Journa)l Hip Hop chart. The first single "Super Human Crew" is at #5.

On Sept. 5th, Aram Danesh and the Super Human Crew will be throwing a party to celebrate the CD Release of "The Grind".... We'll be playing an original mix of rock and hip-hop with an all-star Crew.

It's SF Carnaval season again, and on the weekend of May 23-25 I'll be busy performing at a pre-party, the parade, the main stage, and a post party.
Tambores do Brasil is an exciting new project which features members of two of my favorite Bahian bands- Olodum (former lead singer Fabio Assis) and Ilé Aiyé (drummer Wagner Abutre).

On March 14 I'll be rocking out cali-brazilian style with Bat Makumba at South by Southwest (SXSW) in Austin, Texas. Austin's Variety placed us in it's list of top 15 must-see bands out of the 1500 or so performing. Check out the article here.
Jan/Feb 2008
This winter I'll be performing music in the spirit of Carnaval throughout the western U.S with two of San Francisco's most popular Brazilian bands. Shows are booked all over California, Washington, Oregon, and Kansas.

May 2007 I just finished producing Parallel 23's first full length CD with the guys. Recorded at a pair of stellar Elbo Room shows, "Parallel 23 Live" showcases the band's intense grooving improvisational energy on 9 new tracks and features many guests. ---------------------------- Sept. 29 Parallel 23 will be exploring its electronic side at the Summer Music Conference in San Francisco. The festival features artists who have had great success using technology in music: Q-bert, Groove Armada, and DJ Krush to name a few. P23 will once again be featuring DJ Platurn (11pm @ 1015 Folsom).

The CD Release party for P23 was a success. DJ Platurn once again graced us with his funky presence for most of the set, and saxophonists Evan Francis and Marcus Stephens (Marcus Shelby Orchestra) joined the party on a couple of tunes. P23 Prods. has edited some of the live recordings from the show and added the rhymes of oaktown rapper phenom Panama.

Parallel 23 Shows in Southern California!!!! March 20th, 21st (details at www.parallel23.com)
Parallel 23 had a great debut Jan. 31st at the Elbo Room in San Francisco. Now we're back for more, this time teaming up with a great brazilian group Boca do Rio.
It's an all original 4-piece jam group with my long-time musical compadres: Colin Douglas on drums, Matt Lucas on percussion, and Sam Bevan on bass. We all are involved in the composition of the music, which focuses on butt-shaking and group improv chemistry über-alles. It's also a chance for me to explore my electric side on keyboards... we're calling it electro cuban funk.
